Empire of Dirt: 2025 vintage

This is a wine we’re always pleased to welcome back. They are serious value and without doubt they deserve a place on your dinner table, at your party, in your glass.

When winemaker Johan Meyer came up with Empire of Dirt, the idea was simple: he wanted to show off the terroir of Swartland; to boast about the soils, their range, and the stories they hold. Winemaking follows this thinking; from ground to glass, he changes the course of the wine as little as possible to let us taste the fruit first. Where moves like controlled oxidation are used, it’s sparing, and intentional. The result is a Cabernet Franc and a Sauvignon Blanc that paint pictures of the soils, the climate, and the fruit.

We just received the 2025 vintage and it might just be the best yet.

In the name of showing this off, we're offering a discount of over £13 when you buy 6 bottles in any combination until 6th August. This will automatically be applied at checkout.

'La Promesse' Pomerol, 2019

We have welcomed a new Bordeaux to the shelves of The Sourcing Table. This beautiful Pomerol is showing us what value for money in Bordeaux looks like. Dip your toe into Pomerol without diving, with your life savings, into the top tier.

Unlike a lot of the big flashy Bordeaux houses, you won’t find a glossy website or a host of information about the heritage of Chateau Beau Soleil. What there is, is a clear sense of purpose. The wine is made by owner and winemaker Romain Rivière, using fruit from a single 4-hectare plot in the village of Pomerol, farmed organically and biodynamically. You may know Pomerol as the home of Petrus and Le Pin, but Romain is showing us a different side of the appellation. This is everything you want from Bordeaux; it’s rich and polished, with bags of fruit, but also deep and coffee stained, and without the need to remortgage.

Domaine de l'Accent

We recently welcomed Konrad Pixner’s wines to our shelves and they are blowing us away with their value. These four wines are refreshingly varied, and each illustrate a different facet of the Terrasses du Larzac while carrying Konrad’s fingerprint.

Konrad is farming completely organically and trusting nature to do what it does best. Hand-harvesting and fermentation with native yeast are standard and an obvious choice for Konrad. His philosophy is summed up best in his own words: “…it is in the vines that my wines are made.”

Domaine Chardigny

This is not just another small family domaine with a nice story. Jean-Baptiste Chardigny brought serious pedigree back to the estate, having spent seven years working with Domaine Leflaive and its biodynamically farmed vineyards in the Mâconnais. Those lessons now run through Chardigny’s own farming, with the family applying the same rigorous, biodynamic-minded approach across their vineyards for the past five years.

That meeting point between Beaujolais and white Burgundy is what makes the range so interesting. In Saint-Amour, their Gamay comes from low-trained vines on remarkably stony soils, with pink granite visible across parts of the vineyard floor. Their style is clean and elegant, a hybrid of Cote du Nuits Pinot and elegant semi-carbonic Gamay.

Further north, the granite gives way to the clay-limestone and hard limestone soils of Saint-Véran. Their chardonnay sites tend to be situated in cooler pockets, giving a mineral driven freshness to all of their whites.
