Rajat Parr is an infectious personality. Originally from Calcutta, India, his love of food and restaurants led him to New York in pursuit of this passion and ultimately led to wine. After all, great food and great wine come hand in hand, and as Raj himself says ‘nothing is more pleasing than finding the perfect pairing’.
After a long career as a sommelier, writing award-winning wine lists from New York to San Francisco, and sharing his vast knowledge through wine education, Raj’s day job is now firmly in the realm of winemaking. With his business partner Sashi Moorman, he has harnessed untapped potential in the cooler vineyard sites of California and Oregon, producing world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
